Single Rider Line Being Tested at Rise of the Resistance

Updated:

Disney is testing out a new single rider line at Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new option takes guests through a different line that bypasses the Resistance Transport Ship portion of the queue experience. Single rider guests also miss the Rey and BB-8 portion of the queue.

Single rider guests rejoin the attraction in the larger Star Destroyer room after traveling through backstage areas. Then, they proceed into the holding cell area along with all of the guests who took the traditional lines. Single riders will help ride operations ensure each transport vehicle is full at dispatch.

As with all single rider lines at Disney World, guests likely won’t be seated with their party and will be placed randomly with other groups. The perk of the single rider line is to have a reduced wait, but it’s worth noting that the Rise of the Resistance queue experience is an integral part of the story. Because of that, we can’t recommend using the single rider queue for a first time ride.

It’s always noteworthy when Disney tinkers with its ride operations. We’re a bit surprised to see this change at Rise of the Resistance before other more needed changes, such as ones that would remove the virtual queue from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
