Disney World resorts and Disney owned stores to temporarily close

Disney has announced a new wave of closures following new recommendations from the CDC. All Walt Disney World resorts will close at 5pm on March 20, 2020. In addition, all Disney owned and operated stores will temporarily close on March 17, 2020.

This announcement came as Walt Disney World theme parks closed for the foreseeable future.

Independent stores at Disney Springs will make their own decisions on whether they will continue to operate at this time.

This news shouldn’t come as a surprise given the CDC’s new recommendations and the fact Walt Disney World has already closed its theme parks. The slightly delayed closing of the resorts gives guests a chance to figure out their travel plans and get back home.
