Disney is hiring a new Principal Fireworks Designer

Disney has posted a new job that should catch the eye of fireworks enthusiasts. The company is currently searching for a new Principal Fireworks Designer that will be based in the Orlando area.

The Principal Fireworks Designer will be involved in the brainstorming, creation and development of special effects and live shows.

The summary of the job posting is below:

The Fireworks & Special Effects Principal Designer serves as the creative leader and overall representative for the Disney Live Entertainment Fireworks & Special Effects Design department. The demands of this role require an in-depth understanding of the design intent and the ability for realizing it through the effective execution of the creative process. As the leader, the Fireworks & Special Effects Principal Designer directs all special effects design (including pyrotechnics), helping to prioritize, organize and problem solve during entire course of a project.

Still not sure what the Principal Fireworks Developer does? Disney released a video in 2011 that highlighted Brad Cicotti while he was in the role.

Interested in the position? Disney says you’ll need at least seven years of experience creating and operating live shows. Candidates with previous experience developing shows for Disney will be preferred.
