Disney World Expands July 4th Fireworks to 3 Nights at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

Updated:

Walt Disney World is expanding its July 4th celebration in honor of the country’s 250th birthday. Both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will host their special July 4th fireworks shows on three nights. Guests can see these awesome fireworks shows on July 3, 4, and 5.

The Magic Kingdom’s big show, Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, will begin at 9pm each of the three nights. EPCOT’s show, The Heartbeat of Freedom, will begin at 9:15pm each night.

This is a huge win for guests! Historically, Disney’s July 4th fireworks would take place on two nights at the Magic Kingdom (July 3 and 4) and on just one night at EPCOT (July 4). Both of these shows are outstanding, and we’re excited more guests will get to experience them.

If you’ve never watched either the Magic Kingdom’s or EPCOT’s July 4th fireworks, you’re in for a treat. The Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show uses launch pads around the park to surround guests with fireworks. The 360-degree show is truly special, and will leave you spinning around to take in all the madness.

Over at EPCOT, they put on quite the show too. The ending of EPCOT’s show has to be seen to be believed. An incredible number of shells are fired from the middle of World Showcase Lagoon, and from on and around the American Adventure Pavilion. It’s chaos in the best way.

We’ve joked that all the explosions make it feel like your shirt is vibrating. This is a finale you can feel. We’d argue that the Fourth of July Spectacular at EPCOT is arguably one of the best fireworks shows you’ll see. It’s certainly the loudest and most powerful show Walt Disney World hosts.

Are you planning to visit Walt Disney World around the Fourth of July? Plan on the parks being extremely crowded despite Disney giving guests more chances to view the special fireworks shows. July 4th is usually the busiest time of the year right up there with the time around Christmas and New Year’s. Remember all of our tips to beat the heat at Disney World while you’re celebrating America’s 250th.
