Disney answers questions from guests about the Cinderella Castle makeover

Updated:

Disney recently announced that the iconic Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom would go through a “royal makeover” in honor of the 70th anniversary of the film Cinderella. The transformation will alter the colors of the castle with deeper blues, more gold and possibly some very light pink colors.

Following the announcement, guests raised some questions about the project. Jason Kirk, Vice President of Magic Kingdom Park, responded to alleviate some of their concerns.

Q: Will the work on the castle impact Cinderellaโ€™s Royal Table and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

A: Throughout the makeover, guests will still be able to enjoy favorites inside the castle such as Cinderellaโ€™s Royal Table and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Q: Will construction cover the castle?

A: While temporary construction equipment may be present while Cinderella Castle receives its royal makeover, it will remain uncovered and we will do our best to ensure guests are still able to capture special photos and memories in this iconic spot.

Q: What’s the anticipated completion date?

A: Our work is expected to begin in the coming weeks and be complete before the end of summer.
