Disney has once again mentioned their goal to reinstate a “modest” dividend for shareholders by the end of 2023. Interim CFO Kevin Lansberry commented on the dividend returning during the Walt Disney Company’s Third Quarter 2023 Financial Results Conference Call.

Lansberry echoed Disney’s previous comments on the dividend from back in February when they said they plan to reinstate a “modest dividend” by the end of the year. Disney did not mention a specific amount for the dividend or a date when it will return.

Disney’s last dividend payments were $0.88 per share that they paid to shareholders twice in 2019. The company, led by Bob Chapek at the time, halted the dividend in 2020 to improve cash flow.

A new dividend, which Disney has said multiple times will be “modest” in size, is expected to be less than the $0.88 per share seen in 2019.
