Construction to begin soon on Epcot arrival and security area

Updated:

Walt Disney World has made it a priority to upgrade and expand its arrival and security areas at its theme parks. That construction work is expected to begin at the main entrance of Epcot in the very near future according to a new report from WDWMagic.

The specific details around the changes at Epcot’s security area haven’t been released, but guests should expect some disruptions when arriving at the park. This may include a longer walk from the tram unloading area as construction takes place and temporary security screening areas. Disney is making a strong effort to enlarge and enhance its security arrival areas ahead of the large crowds expected for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

This work comes as a major overhaul is planned for Epcot’s main entrance. While the security and tram arrival changes aren’t directly related to the main entrance project, work is expected to begin on the main entrance changes in the near future.
