It’s exciting times for the Disney Skyliner transportation system. After guide wires were installed across several towers, the first stages of installing the main cable is now underway.
A guide rope is now in place that will be used to haul the main cable through the towers. A great look of the process can be seen thanks to Clamman73 on WDWMagic.
We also know that the cables should be installed near Epcot between the end of November and early December. During that time, the Friendship Boats won’t be operating and guests will notice changes by the International Gateway. We should have some amazing photos when the work begins in this location.
The Disney Skyliner is expected to open in 2019, though a specific opening date hasn’t been announced. It will provide a unique and quick method of transportation for guests moving between Epcot, Hollywood Studios and several resorts. Learn more about the Skyliner’s estimated speed and ride times.
