An Updated Look at the New DVC Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Updated:

A new tower for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members is currently being built at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The tower, which was announced in March 2022 and is scheduled to open in late 2024, sits on the western side of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on the end closest to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

It’s been a bit since we checked in on the construction progress of the new DVC tower, so let’s see how things are looking. The always awesome @bioreconstruct has some great updated aerials.

In addition to being able to see the scale of the DVC tower, the aerial above shows work starting on the new pool area that’ll be positioned near existing guest buildings at the resort.

Here’s another angle of the new DVC tower construction. Below we can see just how close the new tower sits to the Wedding Pavilion at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

The large multi-story tower dramatically changes the landscape at both Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the nearby Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This is going to be one of those impossible-to-miss buildings that alters all surrounding views, similar to what we’ve seen at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and its tower.

Original concept art for the DVC tower shows a more modern design compared to the rest of Disney’s Polynesian Village resort.

It’s possible the overall design has changed from the original 2022 concept art. But it’s clear Disney’s design will be significantly different than the original look of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

The addition of a large DVC tower is the latest effort to modernize and update the offerings at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The lobby and main entrance have already seen design changes, and the resort’s rooms were updated with theming from Moana back in early 2021.
