Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge was supposed to be a new resort that would sit along the shore of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World. The project was postponed indefinitely, or possibly cancelled entirely, in the wake of Disney’s budget cuts.
So, what does the site of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge look like today?
Work was halted on the resort in April / May despite permits being filed related to construction. At the time, the old River Country water park site had been demolished and the land had been prepared for the new hotel.
The former construction site now looks like a grassy field.

The large building seen at the bottom of the photo is the new stable for the horses who reside at Walt Disney World. For reference, the site sits between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
Overall, it looks like Disney cleared and prepared the land before pulling the plug on the project. Here’s how things looked back in February before work stopped.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge was a logical project for Disney to halt. Construction hadn’t gone vertical and creating a new DVC resort during a financial downturn carries significant risk. Some of Walt Disney World’s resorts are still closed as of the date of this article, which makes a new resort build questionable at this time.
