New Disney Cruise Line ship will be named the Disney Wish

One of the three newest ships coming to Disney Cruise Line has an official name! The ship will be called the Disney Wish and will feature Rapunzel on the aft. The first voyages for the ship are expected to come in 2022.

The name was revealed during the Walt Disney Company’s D23 Expo 2019. The brand new ship, and the two others that are expected to come online in the next few years, will be the largest in Disney’s fleet at 140,000 gross tons and are expected to each have 1,250 staterooms. The new ships will be powered by LNG, or liquefied natural gas, which is one of the cleanest-burning fuels currently available.

Itineraries for the new ships haven’t been fully revealed, but it is expected that Disney will expand its presence in the Caribbean as they develop a second private island. It’s also very likely that the larger ships will take over Disney’s most popular itineraries, such as the ones in the Caribbean, which will allow the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy to take be used in other locations if necessary.

What do you think of the new name?
