Disney has revealed their calendar for what’s new and exciting around Walt Disney World in 2026. The list includes a reopening window for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Spring 2026), the brand new Soarin’ Across America (before Memorial Day), and much more. But, there’s one item that’s missing from the calendar – Cinderella Castle’s change back to its OG blue and white colors.
We learned Disney was planning to return Cinderella Castle back to its original colors in an announcement form August 2025. Since then, Disney hasn’t said anything else about the project. We’d expect (and hope) Disney would give advanced notice so guests can get a last glimpse of the current rose gold look that was added for Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.
We still think the Castle will be repainted at some point in 2026. It’s a relatively minor project, and it’d be a bit odd to see it pushed into 2027. Maybe Disney just didn’t want to highlight the revamp in their calendar? We just hope Disney gives some advanced notice so guests visiting during the refurbishment will be prepared to see scaffolding and cranes.
