Disney is moving full steam ahead on the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge project at Walt Disney World. The new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort, which was previously called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, is quickly rising up on the shore of Bay Lake.
Multiple cranes are in place and actively working on the Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Friend of the site DC Baker captured some pictures of the progress.
We can see that the Lakeshore Lodge is already multiple stories tall. The old plans for the Reflections project, which we believe Disney is still following, called for a hotel that was 10 stories tall. Assuming Disney doesn’t deviate too far from those original plans, the hotel is set to be nature themed and will utilize a minimalist, clean design.
Below is the concept art that has been carried over from the Reflections days.
Like the DVC Island Tower over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Lakeshore Lodge is going to dramatically change the look and feel of the area around Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. We hope that Disney at least tries to keep the area as natural as possible to maintain what makes the Fort Wilderness Resort so special.
