Scaffolding is up and work is underway on an exterior refurbishment at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort. The work appears to be focused on replacing and refreshing the outdoor facade on the side of the building facing Walt Disney World’s Crescent Lake.
Friend of the site DC Baker has some great pictures showing the scaffolding extending up the side of the resort. For reference, these pictures are showing a block of rooms just to the side of Jellyrolls.
The refresh on the exterior is just the latest project taking place around Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort. Crews have continued to work on the Blue Ribbon Corn Dog Stand (which was announced all the way back in July 2023) and on the Cake Bake Shop.
Speaking of the Cake Bake Shop, here’s the latest look at the construction progress there.
The Cake Bake Shop is taking over the old ESPN Zone restaurant, but progress on updating the building has been extremely slow. The new restaurant, which will offer table-service dining and, as you might have guessed, lots of baked goods, was originally set to open in 2023. The opening was then delayed to early 2024, but an opening date still hasn’t been announced.
Summarized, there’s a lot of changes taking place at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort. Guests may hear construction noise during the day, though Disney does a good job of minimizing disruptions. While the exterior facade work looks like routine maintenance, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort is still in its multi-year refresh that has seen updates to the lobby, rooms, and dining.
