EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has been recognized by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) with an award for outstanding achievement in the ‘Attraction’ category.
The award was announced during the 2023 IAAPA Expo. Walt Disney Imagineering President Barbara Bouza spoke about the recognition on the Disney Parks Blog.
“On behalf of all Imagineers, I would like to thank TEA for this tremendous recognition of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and for continuing to drive the themed entertainment industry forward. As our Imagineering teams push the boundaries of creative storytelling in innovative and exciting ways, it’s always the highest honor for our work to be recognized by friends and colleagues from around the world.”
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind officially opened in May 2022 and has been a hit with Disney guests. Many guests consider it to be among the best attractions in all of Walt Disney World, if not the very best. The coaster features multiple pre-show rooms, an incredibly smooth ride experience, and a great soundtrack of six songs that play randomly.
While some Disney fans will lament the decision to place Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, there’s no question the attraction is a popular one and worthy of this recognition.
