Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an exhilarating roller coaster at EPCOT that takes guests on an unforgettable space journey. EPCOT’s first coaster is a blast (click here to read our spoiler-free review) and has so much going on that repeat rides may feel like a brand new experience.

Disney is able to make each ride feel unique through overwhelming visuals, a super fun ride system, and a set of six songs that randomly play for each coaster train. Guests won’t know which song they’ll get until they’re blasted off on the ride’s reverse launch.

Here are the songs that guests hear during their ride.

In addition to the songs listed above, Disney used a special ‘Holiday Mixtape’ song during the 2022 winter months. The song ‘Run, Run, Rocket‘ mashup played for every ride during the 2022 holidays. However, this was a limited run and Disney has not brought the holiday song back again.

Can You Pick Your Song on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?

Guests can’t pick their song on Cosmic Rewind. Songs are selected randomly by the control system each time a coaster train is dispatched. It’s all luck of the draw whether you’ll get “Conga” or “September” or a different song on your journey. There’s no use trying to pick a specific train or seat. It’s all random.

Our first ride on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was to the song “I Ran” (I ran so far awayyyyy) by A Flock of Seagulls. We thought the song fit perfectly on the ride and blended in well with the on-ride commentary from the Guardians of the Galaxy. Honestly, we think all of the songs fit the vibe nicely, though each makes the coaster feel a bit different.

Guests will also hear a wide variety of classic songs when they exit the coaster and head back into EPCOT. The music in the hallways leading out of Cosmic Rewind have a great collection of hits from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.

Will New Songs Be Added to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?

It’s extremely likely Disney will update the soundtrack on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at some point in the future. They’ve updated the soundtrack during the 2022 holidays, and it’d be pretty easy to update or change the songs to breathe new life into the coaster as it ages.

Disney could routinely update the ride’s songs whenever they need something new to promote at EPCOT. Of course, we hope they’d select new songs carefully (they have to fit the Guardians vibe), and the soundtrack shouldn’t be changed too often.
