We finally know what the mysterious construction is inside EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion. Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has announced that a new Welcome Home Center is being built inside the Hotel du Canada building.
The Welcome Home Center will provide guests with information about the DVC program and allow them to tour a model room of Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The space sounds similar to the DVC Information Center found at Disney’s BoardWalk.
This addition is the latest DVC push into Walt Disney World’s theme parks. Recently, a new DVC lounge opened to multi-hour waits at the Magic Kingdom. A similar Welcome Home Center spot was opened in Disney Springs in 2024. Outside of the parks, Disney has been ramping up its DVC offerings through the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village resort and the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge resort.
Disney is committed to expanding Disney Vacation Club at Walt Disney World because it is such a large driver of revenue. The vacation timeshare program has guests agree to long-term commitments that guarantees revenue for Disney. There’s a reason why DVC resorts are Disney’s only focus at this time.
Generally, we’re not a fan of DVC elements popping in the theme parks. The info stands aren’t too intrusive, but utilizing the Hotel du Canada for model rooms seems a bit tacky. We think a lounge would’ve been a more fun use of the space.
