Update: The good news is that Disney has reached out to the original sources of the Hoop-Dee-Doo rumor, WDWInfo.com, and told them that Hoop-Dee-Doo is not closing. Disney stated the show will go on and there are no plans to shutter the dinner show at this time.
The bad news is that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ may close according to WDWMagic.com, but there are plans to bring back a similar experience in the future.
While it’s encouraging to see that Disney recognizes the value of Hoop-Dee-Doo, one does have to wonder how the future changes will alter the overall aesthetic of Fort Wilderness.

Original Story: Most Disney World rumors are a lot of fun to discuss, but this latest rumor is a bit depressing. A new report suggests that Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness may close to make way for a future resort or a resort expansion.
As seen on WDWInfo.com, the rumor states that a potential new resort, which may live on the old River Country location, would close Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. However, reservations for Hoop-Dee-Doo are still available for early 2019 and Disney has not officially commented on this rumor.
Hoop-Dee-Doo is one of the longest-running dinner shows in American history, celebrating its 40th birthday in 2014. It’s a must-do for many Disney guests due to its rich history, good food and lively entertainment.
Here’s a look back at a video commemorating Hoop-Dee-Doo’s 40th year.
While nothing has been confirmed regarding Hoop-Dee-Doo, it has been confirmed that Disney was doing tests on the old River Country location for a potential future project. Hopefully any new project in the area would only result in a temporary closure and not a permanent end for Hoop-Dee-Doo.
