Walt Disney World is scheduled to close early on New Year’s Eve

Date:

It doesn’t look like Walt Disney World will host any New Year’s Eve celebrations to ring in 2021. The official Walt Disney World calendar has been updated to add operating hours into 2021, revealing Disney’s plans for the winter holidays.

All of the theme parks will close well before midnight on December 31.

Magic Kingdom
9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Epcot
12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Disney Springs
10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

As always, Disney’s operating hours are subject to change without notice.

Walt Disney World closing its doors early on what is usually one of their busiest nights is disappointing, but not a surprise. Disney has tried to strictly manage attendance at its theme parks and New Year’s Eve generates enormous interest that wouldn’t allow for social distancing.

Disney may still roll out some small things to celebrate New Year’s (specialty food and drinks, merchandise, etc), but we’ll have to see the regular nighttime shows resume and increased capacity long before the usual New Year’s Eve celebrations can happen.
