Video: Learn more about the Disney Skyliner transportation system

The Disney Skyliner transportation system will transform how many guests travel around Walt Disney World. Connecting four resorts and two theme parks, the gondola system will give guests an elevated view as they quickly move between locations.

As construction progresses on the Disney Skyliner, a new video was released that highlights some facts you may not know about the system.

You don’t appreciate just how large the Disney Skyliner system is until you learn there’s six miles of cable connecting the stations. Speaking of cables, they’re expected to start going up in the next couple months.

We also took a look at some of the estimated distances and travel times for the Skyliner.

The Disney Skyliner is expected to open in 2019.

As Disney prepares its newest mode of transportation for guests, rumors have started to circulate that they may be exploring a completely different method of transportation for guests. No specifics have been revealed, but it’s possible they want something else that can travel longer distances that also helps cut down on bus reliance. Stay tuned.
