Video: Incredible footage from Rise of the Resistance shows Kylo Ren and AT-ATs attacking guests

Updated:

Rise of the Resistance has been marketed as the most innovative and technologically advanced ride in Disney history. A quick look at the ride shown during the D23 Expo 2019 appears to confirm that marketing hype.

The short clip shows Kylo Ren’s lightsaber cutting through the ceiling, AT-ATs firing on the guest transport vehicle and an incredible number of Stormtroopers.

Here’s the full clip that offers a look at the pre-show and more Stormtroopers.

Rise of the Resistance is expected to be a wild experience where guests are captured by the First Order and must find a way to escape. The ride will have animatronics, large sets and some crazy technology.

How will Disney pull off Kylo Ren’s lightsaber cutting through the ceiling? Or the laser blasts coming at guests from the AT-ATs and Stromtroopers? It looks like genuine Disney magic. Rise of the Resistance should be the headline attraction of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Rise of the Resistance opens in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on December 5th, 2019 and in Disneyland on January 17, 2020.
