TRON Lightcycle Run Will Use a Virtual Queue, No Standby Line

Disney has confirmed that TRON Lightcycle Run will utilize a virtual queue when it opens on April 4, 2023. A traditional standby line will not be used when the coaster first opens.

Guests hoping to ride TRON Lightcycle Run will either need to reserve a spot in the virtual queue or purchase an individual Lightning Lane entry. This might be the least surprising Disney news in recent memory as it matches Disney’s approach with other marquee attraction openings, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Disneyland’s Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Assuming TRON Lightcycle Run’s virtual queue matches previous virtual queues, guests will have two opportunities each day to join the virtual line. The experience will be booked within the My Disney Experience app. Guests who successfully snag a reservation will be assigned a board group number. Disney will then call groups throughout the day to let guests know it’s their time to ride.
