The track is starting to be installed for Epcot’s Guardians of the Galaxy coaster

A significant milestone has been reached in the construction of the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster at Epcot. New photos show that the track is starting to be installed in the tunnel that connects the old Universe of Energy building to the new (and enormous) ride building.

The track, which is the black steel seen rising into the main ride building near the center of the image, can now be viewed in a few locations around Epcot.

This milestone comes not too long after test ride footage was released for the coaster. There we saw how the cars will use a controlled spin to take riders past show scenes. Additional details such as top speed, tallest drop and total track length haven’t been revealed at this time.

The Guardians of the Galaxy coaster will be one of the largest indoor coasters in the world and is expected to open by 2021.
