Salt & Straw ice cream shop coming to Disney Springs

Salt & Straw has announced they are opening a new location at Walt Disney World! The popular ice cream shop will open at Disney Springs in 2022. Guests will enjoy a variety of flavors that range from unique to familiar classics.

Salt & Straw teased the announcement on social media.

Flavors at Salt & Straw vary by location, but some of their classics include Sea Salt w/ Caramel Ribbons, Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Fold Vanilla
Honey Lavender, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Strawberry & Coconut Water Sherbet, Pear & Blue Cheese, and more. Their Disney Springs store is expected to have unique flavors specific to Walt Disney World.

A specific location in Disney Springs wasn’t announced, but it’s believed the store will take over the location that was originally intended for Ample Hills, an ice cream shop that left Walt Disney World after filing for bankruptcy. Ample Hills originally had a store at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, but that location closed and the plans at Disney Springs folded. Salt & Straw already has a relationship with Disney with a store in Downtown Disney at Disneyland.

Salt & Straw will initially operate solely at Disney Springs, but we wonder if they’ll eventually take over the generic ice cream shop at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. That may be a stretch, but we could see it happening if the Disney Springs spot is popular and Disney decides they’d rather not run the BoardWalk Inn store.
