Primeval Whirl removed from printed park maps at Animal Kingdom

A notable attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been removed from the park’s printed guide maps. Primeval Whirl located in DinoLand U.S.A. isn’t included on the list of attractions available to guests. The attraction is listed as “Temporarily Unavailable” on Walt Disney World’s online maps and was seasonal for portions of 2019.

Primeval Whirl has had a colorful history at Animal Kingdom over the last few years. The attraction has seen extended closures of late due to a variety of reported maintenance issues. Some rumors suggested Disney was even reviewing the attraction – and Dinoland U.S.A. as a whole – for a potential overhaul. No specific details were ever outlined, but possible ideas ranged from something involving Indiana Jones to the Jungle Book to something else entirely.

All of those rumors have landed firmly on the backburner as Disney tries to maintain financial stability during these unprecedented times. For now, it appears Primeval Whirl will continue to operate sporadically at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
