Disney has finally announced that parking lot trams are returning to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in September 2023. Upon the return of the trams to both parks, all Walt Disney World theme parks will have parking lot trams in operation for the first time since early 2020.

Trams returning to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is long overdue as Disney originally announced they’d return to all Walt Disney World theme parks by the end of 2022. The end of 2022 came and went with no mention of the trams at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, more than eight months into 2023, Disney is finally rolling out the trams from storage.
This is one of those changes that may seem insignificant to some, but makes a big difference for a lot guests. Guests can have an extremely long walk to the entrance of the parks depending on their parking spot. That can be a real problem for elderly guests, guests with mobility issues, or for anyone who hates trudging across a big parking lot.
We also welcome the trams’ return with open arms because it’s refreshing to see Disney bring something back that’s designed purely to enhance the guest experience. More of this, please!
