The new tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is taking shape

The new 15-story tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is starting to take shape. The tower, which is being built in an effort to enhance the overall quality and amenities at Coronado Springs, will completely alter the overall appearance and feel of the resort.

Construction appears to be progressing at a solid pace, as shown in the photo above courtesy of @bioreconstruct on Twitter. When completed, the tower will stand roughly twice as tall as its currently shown.

WDWTraveler from WDWMagic also posted some awesome photos showing all of the work around Coronado Springs.

Imagining the structure in the photo above rising up about twice as high, it’s easy to see how this will alter (see: dominate) the landscape at Coronado Springs.

Struggling to picture how the resort will look when all of the work is completed? Check out the video below to see a virtual tour of both the new tower and the other additions coming to the resort.

As you can see in the video, the resort will have a large event lawn, a lakefront promenade, a floating bar and grill restaurant, a boardwalk and several other notable changes. It is noted that all of the images and art shown are subject to change.

Will the additions and changes improve Coronado Springs? That’s a subjective question. The changes will certainly bring some needed updates and fun new features, but some may not enjoy the fact the resort is seemingly losing its original quiet charm.
