New MagicBand+ will light up, vibrate and interact with Walt Disney World theme parks

The next iteration of MagicBands has been announced. MagicBand+ will build on the existing MagicBand system and allow guests to interact with different elements in Walt Disney World theme parks. The new MagicBand+ bands will light up, vibrate and more.

MagicBand+, which is set to debut in 2022, will even allow guests to interact with the 50th anniversary character sculptures. It’ll also light up during nighttime spectaculars and allow guests to interact with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in a new way.

Discounted pre-arrival prices will be offered to guest staying at a Disney resort. Lowered prices will also be available to new and renewing annual passholders. Existing MagicBands will continue to be sold if guests aren’t looking to upgrade.

More information will be released on MagicBand+ closer to launch in 2022.
