New concept art and details released for the Star Wars Hotel

Permit plans that were recently released for the Star Wars Hotel offered a rough look at the immersive experience that’s in store for guests. Now, Disney has released additional concept art that shows some new views of the experience.

Disney also provided a new description for the Star Wars Hotel:

“This groundbreaking experience is unlike any resort experience you’ve ever seen. From the moment you board your launch pod, it’s a fully-immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure aboard a luxury starship complete with high-end dining, space-view cabins and all of the exciting action you would expect from an authentic Star Wars experience.”

It’s not very clear where the photo at the top of the page will take place, but it may be the launch pod guests will use to “travel” up to the ship. This would match the idea that guests enter at a port, go through security and then join their adventure in space.

Disney also said the Star Wars Hotel experience will be a cruise-like experience. This won’t be your typical resort. Guests will join a story that takes them through the hotel and into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios over a couple of days. Guests expecting the types of amenities or experiences found at other Disney resorts might be disappointed. This should be viewed as a stand-alone, primary experience.

The art below (apologies for the poor quality) shows that the entrance of the hotel looks fairly generic. It kind of resembles what you might find at an airport or a cruise terminal.

No opening date has been officially announced at this time.
