Medals revealed for the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

Updated:

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is the largest and most prestigious event hosted by runDisney. The 2020 edition of the race will take place January 8 – January 12, 2020 and will feature seven races and three challenges around Walt Disney World property.

The medals have finally been revealed for the 2020 Marathon Weekend and Disney appears to be taking a retro approach.

Disney

While other runDisney races carry themes such as Star Wars or Food and Wine, the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend’s theme is iconic and original Disney. That’s reflected in the 2020 medals with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit representing the 10k and some classic character designs seen in Pluto, Donald, Mickey and Goofy.

Each medal reveal on social media was created to look like a classic Disney cartoon. Check out the Goofy Challenge medal reveal below.

While we aren’t planning on participating in the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, our experience at the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon was so good that we’d highly recommend other runDisney events.

What do you think of the medals?
