Magic Kingdom will have After Hours BOO BASH events instead of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Walt Disney World has announced their modified plans for the 2021 Halloween season. Disney After Hours BOO BASH events will take place on select nights between August 10 and October 31, 2021. The Halloween-themed After Hours events will feature cavalcades, character appearances, treat spots and more.

The Disney After Hours BOO BASH nights will run from 9pm to midnight after Magic Kingdom has closed to regular guests. That means guests will enjoy attractions with significantly reduced wait times. Pricing hasn’t been announced as of the date of this article.

It’s easy to feel disappointed that the fireworks, parades and stage shows aren’t apart of the 2021 Halloween celebration. But, it’s important to view the BOO BASH events as enhanced After Hours events rather than a limited Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Disney is constantly evaluating their health and safety regulations, so it’s possible things will change ahead of August.

Ultimately, our opinion on the BOO BASH events will be determined by the price and the allowed capacity. There’s quite a bit of value to be found in enjoying Magic Kingdom attractions with low waits. But, we hope Disney doesn’t try to match the prices for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party given the reduced entertainment.
