Kali River Rapids will once again close for its annual refurbishment period in early 2020. The ride is expected to be closed beginning on January 6, 2020 and will remain closed through March 20, 2020. Assuming everything goes to plan, Kali River Rapids is expected to reopen on March 21, 2020.
This refurbishment period is slightly longer than ones we have seen in the past, but it mostly lines up with previous closures the attraction has seen when the weather cools down in Florida. Disney will use this refurbishment period to perform general maintenance to the ride systems and to touch up the attraction. No major changes or upgrades are expected.
Guests planning future Walt Disney World vacations should assume that Kali River Rapids will be closed for a period of time at the beginning of each year – not that the idea of riding a water ride is overly appealing when the temperatures are mild.
