John the animatronic lost a hand at the Carousel of Progress

Things got a little bit out of hand today at the Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom. John, the animatronic that serves as the narrator of the Carousel of Progress, lost his right hand during one of the show’s scenes.

A guest (Reddit user ColtsMcgee) captured a photo of the strange scene as the show continued on with John’s hand sitting on the ground beside him.

You just never know what’s going to happen at the Carousel of Progress. The iconic and historic attraction has seen its fair share of crazy, such as when a couple guests jumped on the stage during one of the shows.

Unfortunately, incidents like the one that happened to poor ol’ John may happen. The show, which was created for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair, is going to have its random and possibly bizarre moments due to its age and reliance on animatronics. It’s part of what makes watching the classic show so great. You never know what’s going to happen.

At least some folks on Twitter are having fun with it!
