How Long is the Walk Between the Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian Resort and the Polynesian Resort?

Updated:

The new walkway connecting the Magic Kingdom with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has officially opened. The path offers guests an alternative way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom from either the Grand Floridian Resort or Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

How long will it take to walk between these Walt Disney World destinations?

The always great @bioreconstruct timed the walks between the three points of interest. Your times may vary, but this at least offers a ballpark for guests planning to arrive on foot.

Magic Kingdom to Grand Floridian Resort
About 12 minutes

Magic Kingdom to far end of Grand Floridian Resort
About 16 minutes

Magic Kingdom to Polynesian Resort
About 25 minutes

Magic Kingdom to Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC)
About 32 minutes

NOTE: Walk times between the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort may be impacted with the construction of new Disney Vacation Club Villas. The new villas will sit near the water in the old home of the Spirit of Aloha show. The walkway currently goes right through this area and it may be disrupted or rerouted during construction.

As mentioned above, your times will vary. Guests who are familiar with the layout and have no interest in stopping to look around will be able to complete their walk much quicker. Still, we wouldn’t recommend walking between the TTC and the Magic Kingdom unless you enjoy a long walk or you’re desperately trying to avoid crowds.

The new walkway is a great new perk for these two Magic Kingdom resorts. A leisurely stroll back to the resort is a perfect way to end a fun day in a Walt Disney World theme park.
