Exterior track is going up for the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom

It’s time for a quick construction update on the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom. Supports and large sections of track have been added for the exterior portion of the ride that will sit beneath the attraction’s iconic canopy.

Some great views of the progress have been captured from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

A few more looks at the area:

Now that the exterior portion of the ride is starting to go up, it’s becoming a bit easier to picture what Tomorrowland will look like once the TRON coaster is completed. Granted, the views of the exterior portion of the track will be partially concealed by the enormous canopy.

Compare some of these recent photos to the concept art below.

It’s hard to believe this massive structure will live in Tomorrowland in the not too distant future.

Despite the track going up extremely quickly, there’s still a lot of work to do on the TRON attraction before it’s ready to open in 2021.
