Disney World theme park hours extended on New Year’s Eve (but not to midnight)

Date:

Walt Disney World has extended their theme park operating hours on New Year’s Eve. Each of the four theme parks have had additional hours added in anticipation of large holiday crowds. However, none of the parks are currently scheduled to be open to midnight and no New Year’s Eve celebrations are planned at this time.

As always, the hours below are subject to change.

Magic Kingdom

December 31
8am to 11pm (was 9am to 7pm)

Epcot

December 31
10am to 10pm (was 12pm to 8pm)

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

December 31
9am to 9pm (was 10am to 7pm)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

December 31
7am to 8pm (was 9am to 5pm)

Walt Disney World’s theme parks are noticeably more crowded since Disney increased its attendance cap to 35%. Adding more hours to the calendar may alleviate some of those crowds and help spread attendance throughout the day.

Guests hoping for unique New Year’s Eve entertainment or a midnight celebration should keep their expectations in check. Disney did add brief bursts of fireworks to its holiday projections, but there are no signs pointing to any significant New Year’s Eve offerings at this time.
