The Disney Park Pass System appears to be sticking around at Walt Disney World for the foreseeable future. Disney has updated their Disney Park Pass System to allow guests to make reservations all the way through January 14, 2022.
The calendar originally had dates through September 2021, but as Disney opened up resort bookings deeper into 2021, the Disney Park Pass System has been updated into 2022.
Currently, guests with either an annual pass or a theme park ticket are required to make a specific park reservation prior to their arrival. The Disney Park Pass System has a select number of available reservations for each theme park separated into three unique pools – Disney Resort guest, annual passholder and ticket holder. The system aims to control capacity at the theme parks, which reportedly sits at 25%.
Guests should note that additional dates being added to the Disney Park Pass System calendar does not guarantee the system will be used the entire time. Disney is planning for a scenario where capacity restrictions will require reservations, but should the current climate improve, they could eliminate the system without much trouble.
