Disney cast members sign a support column for the new TRON coaster

Updated:

The new TRON coaster that’s coming to Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom recently celebrated a fun milestone.

Disney cast members and the teams responsible for bringing the TRON coaster to life signed one of the first steel support columns that will be used in the project. With a large crane in place, it is believed that the TRON coaster construction will start going vertical in the very near future.

Typically, we’ve seen similar signing events ahead of a topping off ceremony for a new construction project. The TRON coaster is a little bit different in the fact the coaster itself is expected to be completed first before the outer building going up around it later. Guests should be able to get a good look at the coaster track before it’s hidden from view.

The TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom is expected to open by 2021.
