While all of the attention has been on the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and the upcoming opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Ratatouille attraction coming to Epcot has quietly made some significant progress.
The exterior facade of the new show building has received a lot of attention over the past few weeks, taking shape at the back of the France pavilion. WDWTraveler provided a great look at the progress (shown at the top of this page) on how things are coming along. There’s still a lot to do, but you can see the overall outline and structure that will comprise the expanded portion of the pavilion.
The photo was taken near the International Gateway, an area that is also seeing some massive changes ahead of the opening of the Disney Skyliner.
Meanwhile, reports from Disney insiders have indicated that the work on the interior has really sped up in recent weeks. There’s no indication why the pace of construction has suddenly increased, but it appears the Ratatouille ride could be targeting an earlier opening window.
To date, the Ratatouille ride is expected to open in May 2020. That opening window could be bumped forward should the current rate of work continue.
