Demolition and land clearing is underway for a new hotel, The Cove, that will be built near the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts. The Cove will be located near the Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf courses in the Epcot Resort area.
Currently, we can see in @bioreconstruct’s aerial photo that the old tennis courses (located near the top of the photo) have been removed and the former event pavilions (located near the bottom of the photo) are almost completely demolished. The land is still being cleared and prepared ahead of any foundation work.
Now that work is underway, guests in the area may start seeing and hearing construction on the new hotel.
The 14-story hotel will have 349 rooms, over 20,000 feet of meeting space and a rooftop terrace that will offer views of the nighttime shows at both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Cove is expected to open in early 2021.
