Changes are coming to the bag check and tram drop off area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Date:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom appears to be the next theme park at Walt Disney World that will see changes near its front entrance. New permits suggest that the park’s bag check and tram drop off areas will be altered in a similar fashion to what’s taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The folks over at Blog Mickey have done an outstanding job of breaking down what changes should be expected at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They believe guests will see the following alterations:

  • The new tram drop off will be moved roughly a few hundred feet away, shortening the overall drop off route and area.
  • The bag check area will be moved forward and will reside in a location close to where the current tram drop off point is located.
  • A couple small structures will be constructed.

You can spot the new tram drop off location in the layered aerial photo below. The bag check area might be difficult to spot, but it’s located where the trees are near the white parking tram in the old drop off location.

Summarized, Walt Disney World appears to be increasing the overall size of its security screening areas by pushing them further away from the actual park gates. This comes as enormous crowds are expected to arrive at Walt Disney World for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios later in 2019.
