New security screening area coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The main entrance area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing some significant changes. Previously, we’ve seen work nearly completed on new bus stations and a station for the Disney Skyliner. Now, work is underway on what appears to be a new security screening area.

Thanks to @bioreconstruct, we can see that the new security screening area (the partially-finished white roof in the photo above) is being built just to the side of the current screening area and ticket booths. A new location for tram drop-offs is also being constructed.

The alterations to the main entrance of Disney’s Hollywood Studios comes in preparation for the enormous crowds that are expected for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The new screening area is larger and should be able to accommodate more guests more efficiently.

We’ll be back with an updated look at the main entrance once everything is completed.
