Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railways is scheduled to open in a few weeks on March 4, 2020. Ahead of the official opening, Walt Disney World president Josh D’Amaro announced that cast members will have the opportunity to be the first to experience this brand new attraction.
D’Amaro took to Instagram to announce that a lengthy cast member preview will take place before the ride opens to guests. Currently, the previews are expected to run from February 22 to March 2. Cast members interested in riding will need to register beginning on February 17.
It’s always nice to see Disney cast members rewarded with a fun perk. D’Amaro, who was known at Disneyland for being a big supporter of cast members, has also stated that Disney will invest millions to improve cast member break rooms, dining options and technology.
Based on this news, it seems unlikely that there will be a preview window for annual passholders or even a soft opening period. We’d assume that media will preview Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway on March 3 before the ride officially opens on March 4.
