Disney is updating the grounds around Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion attraction in 2024. The Haunted Mansion’s outdoor queue will be expanded and upgraded, and a new retail shop themed to Madame Leota’s carriage house will be added near the ride’s exit.
Construction on both the expanded queue and the retail shop will begin in January 2024.
Here’s concept art showing the enhanced outdoor queue area:
From the Disney Parks Blog:
The stately grounds of the Haunted Mansion will expand with a spirited metamorphosis at Disneyland Resort next year. In 2024, the additions will build on the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion and include an expanded outdoor queue to immerse guests in enhanced theming, as well as a new retail shop adjacent to the attraction’s exit.
The expanded outdoor queue will feature themed gardens, a new greenhouse, and more.
Each of the gardens will feature unique elements ranging from a water fountain and gazebo to themed statuary and landscaping. In fact, guests will be able to see a new greenhouse where the groundskeepers for the Haunted Mansion grow their plants. The pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will continue to reside on the attraction’s grounds.
Disney also provided a look at Madame Leota’s carriage house that will serve as a new retain shop.
These announcements are nice additions for the area around the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. It’s a win from an operations perspective as the line for the Haunted Mansion can easily spill out into the walkways on busy days. It’s also a win from a revenue perspective as Disney is opening a new shopping location that’s sure to be popular with guests.
Construction is set to begin on both the queue enhancements and the shop in January 2024, but Disney did not say when they’ll be completed next year.
