What Rides Go Upside Down at Walt Disney World?

Updated:

Walt Disney World is home to dark rides, family rides, thrill rides, and more at its four theme parks. While Disney does a great job of offering a diverse roster of attractions, a few rides may be a bit too intense for younger guests.

Only one ride goes upside down at Walt Disney World. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios takes guests upside down on a loop after a zero-to-57mph launch. That’s it! There’s other intense rides at Walt Disney World, but Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster stands alone as the only ride with an inversion.

While there’s only one upside down ride, Walt Disney World has several rides that are pretty intense. There’s a few where you could lose your lunch. Be warned that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT has controlled spins, and is known for being a potential recipe for motion sickness. Mission: SPACE (the orange side) is also a stomach-churning ride.

We also think Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom are on the more intense side. Ultimately, your bar might be lower or higher in terms of intensity. You might disagree with us, but can we all agree that Living with the Land at EPCOT is the most relaxing ride at Walt Disney World?

Disappointed only one ride goes upside down? Don’t be! Disney excels by having well-themed attractions that just about anyone can enjoy. Each park even has great rides for adults. We outlined the best rides for adults at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There’s truly something for everyone!
