A recent update to the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app allows guests to book onboard placeholders directly through the mobile app. This change makes it more convenient for guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line to take advantage of the placeholder discount without having to book an appointment with a Disney cast member.
Below is the app’s update description:
Guests will still need to visit with a cast member if they’re looking to book a placeholder for a specific cruise.
Previously, guests would use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to enter a virtual queue for an appointment with a Disney cast member. Then, they would fill out a sheet of paper to “book” a spot on a future cruise while enjoying a decent discount and reduced deposit cost. The whole process seemed a bit outdated and guests could experience lengthy waits to book a placeholder.
We have personally booked placeholders on previous sailings and we’ve encountered buggy virtual queues and long waits due to high guest demand. The ability to book a non-specific placeholder for a future Disney cruise is a welcome change we’ll be sure to take advantage of on an upcoming trip.
