Disney has revealed that Peter Pan and Captain Hook will be the characters featured on the stern of Disney Cruise Line’s new ship the Disney Treasure. The released concept art shows Peter Pan with a paintbrush and paint bucket while an angry paint-covered Captain Hook leans out a porthole.
First Disney Treasure stern concept art:
Every Disney Cruise Line ship has a character (or characters) featured on the stern. The Disney Wish has Rapunzel, the Disney Fantasy has Dumbo, the Disney Dream has Sorcerer Mickey and brooms, the Disney Wonder has Donald Duck and his nephews, and the Disney Magic features Goofy.
More on Peter Pan and Captain Hook from the Disney Parks Blog:
For 25 years, each ship in the fleet has been adorned with characters from beloved Disney stories. The Disney Treasure will follow this tradition with its own signature character sculptures that honor the ship’s motif of adventure, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Harnessing the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter Pan will levitate next to the Disney Treasure to add the finishing touch to the ship’s stern filigree. Meanwhile, Peter Pan’s longtime rival, Captain Hook can be seen leaning out a porthole with a vengeful expression on his face. Paintbrush and paint bucket in hand, Peter Pan sports a mischievous grin as he glances back at Captain Hook, who is dripping in yellow paint.
The Disney Treasure is currently scheduled to join Disney Cruise Line’s fleet in 2024. The Disney Treasure is themed to adventure, and will feature a Grand Hall with rich gold and blue colors and an atrium statue with Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet.
The Disney Treasure is still under construction at Meyer Werft in Germany. We’d expect Disney Cruise Line to announce more information about the Disney Treasure soon ahead of the planned debut in 2024.
