It’s time to say goodbye to the Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney has announced that the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction will close on June 7, 2025. In addition, PizzeRizzo will also close its doors on June 7. Mama Melrose, the nearby Italian restaurant, will close its doors a bit earlier on May 10.
These closures mark the end of Muppets Courtyard and will allow Disney to start transforming the area into a new land themed to Monsters, Inc.
The new Monsters, Inc land will repurpose the Muppet*Vision 3D theatre for a new offering that Disney hasn’t fully revealed. A new coaster – a doors coaster – will headline the land. As for the dining locations, it’s unclear how Disney will approach the shuttered Mama Melrose and PizzeRizzo spaces. Remodels are likely, but Disney hasn’t outlined how extensive the overhaul of the land will be.
Thankfully, the Muppets aren’t disappearing from Hollywood Studios entirely. Disney has announced that the Muppets will take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at some point in the future.
Guests visiting Hollywood Studios this summer should be aware that the park, which already has a small roster of attractions, will be one shorter during the peak crowd season. We’re not saying Muppet*Vision 3D was a massive people-eater of an attraction, but it at least helped give guests something to do.
