Leaked Concept Art and Details for Tropical Americas Land at Animal Kingdom

New concept art and details have leaked about the Tropical Americas land that’s planned for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The leak includes two new pieces of unseen concept art, and some important information about the animals that currently call DinoLand USA home.

The leaked info comes from Belle (FiBelleFi on Twitter).

The concept art shows the Encanto attraction from a new angle, and depicts what the walkway into the Indiana Jones area (formerly the Dinosaur attraction) might look like. We trust the source here, but we’ll always recommend taking any unreleased concept art with a grain of salt.

Belle also shared some interesting (and troubling?) info about animals in the updated land. She says that Disney originally didn’t have any plans for animals in the land, but animal care cast members have been pushing for them. Capybaras and jaguars have been suggested, though there’s no indication Disney will change course. We think capybaras would be absolutely perfect!

Currently, the area is home to an American crocodile who is expected to be transported to a new home outside of Walt Disney World. The Abdim’s storks are expected to be moved to another spot in Animal Kingdom.

We sincerely hope Disney changes their original plans and includes real animals in whatever ends up coming to DinoLand USA. It’s important to stay true to the values of the park, and while DinoLand USA was more of a celebration of animals of old, removing any kind of animal presence would be a big miss.
