Walt Disney World is making preparations ahead of the forecasted arrival of Hurricane Milton this week. A hurricane warning has been issued in the Orange and Osceola areas, which is where Walt Disney World is located.
Below are the official cancellations and closures due to Hurricane Milton. This list will be updated throughout the storm. Disney’s official statements may be found here.
Theme Parks
- On October 9, all theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1pm.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1 p.m.
- Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m.
- The theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed on Thursday, October 10.
- This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on October 10.
Transportation
- Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating Wednesday, October 9 after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close.
Resorts
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will temporarily close beginning at 11am on Wednesday, October 9. Guests that need assistance in booking alternative accommodations at another Disney Resort hotel should call 407-939-2744.
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are likely to remain closed until Sunday, October 13.
- The Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will likely reopen on Friday, October 11.
- No new hotel reservations are being accepted for Wednesday, October 9 or Thursday, October 10. By restricting inventory, Disney is ensuring they have space for guests who have to extend their stay due to the storm. This will also keep enough rooms open for cast members who are apart of the ride-out crew.
Water Parks & Miniature Golf
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed on Wednesday, October 9. Disney did not provide an update about October 10. Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park remains closed for planned refurbishment.
Cancellation Fees
- Disney is waiving change and cancellation fees for guests with check-in dates from Sunday, October 6 through Saturday, October 12.
Orlando International Airport
Orlando International Airport (MCO) will cease commercial operations on Wednesday morning. They’ll resume operations as soon as it’s safe to do so. Follow them for the latest.
